Our Story
Built on the Shop Floor.
Not in a Boardroom.
Josh Douglas started Auto Art in 2012 with one goal: do the repair right and be straight with the customer about what it costs and what it involves. That has not changed.
Before opening the shop, Josh spent years doing dealer-level reconditioning — the kind of work where every vehicle has to look retail-ready before it hits the lot. Color matching, blend work, bodywork, prep — done correctly and consistently. That experience is the baseline for every car that comes through Auto Art today.
What changed when we went retail is who we serve. Now it is real people — someone whose bumper got hit in a parking lot, or who has a claim open and does not know where to start. We handle both the same way: look at the damage honestly, give a real answer, and do the work right.
We are not a franchise. Josh is here. The same standards that applied on day one apply now.

What to Expect When You Come to Auto Art.
Straight on Insurance vs. Out of Pocket
We help you understand which path makes more sense for your situation. No pressure toward one or the other. Your call, always.
You Know the Number Before We Start
We give you the estimate before anything gets touched. If something changes after teardown, we tell you first. No surprises on the final invoice.
Factory Color Matching
Computerized OEM color matching on every repaint job. The blend should disappear into the surrounding panels. If it does not look right, we fix it.
Final Walk-Around Before You Drive Off
Josh or a senior tech does a final review before the car leaves — finish, fit, color match. If something is off, it gets corrected here, not after you drive away.
We Back Our Work
Workmanship warranty on every repair. If you bring it back with a legitimate issue from our repair, we make it right. That is part of the deal.

We are located at 8805 N I-35 Frontage Rd, Austin TX 78753. Easy access from the I-35 frontage road, north of Downtown Austin. You do not have to come in to get an estimate — send photos first and we will tell you if a visit is needed.
